Location : Amphoe Mueang
This temple is the archeological site in old Chumphon, at Tambon Tak Daet. It is on the left-hand side of highway no.41 (Chumphon - Surat Thani), after passing Tambon Wang Phai and across Saeng Daet Canal. Some archeological objects were found such as sand-stone Buddha image in Srivijaya Period, Chedi containing Lord Buddhas bones. The decoration of the gate, walls and other buildings have portrayed the local architectural designs at this temple.

How to get there :
Drive along highway No.41 (Chumphon - Surat Thani route) toward, 6 km from the Pathom Phon intersection, drive under the bridge, railroad crossing and then continue driving to Chumphon soi 15 for about 2 kilometers.
Wat Thep Charoen
Location : Amphoe Thasae
Situated in Tambon Tha Kham, this temple is 4 kilometres from Phetkasem Road (highway no.4) at the 490th kilometre. The temple is located at the foot of Rap Ro Hill used to be the port area in the ancient time. There are many interesting attractions around this temple. Many Buddha images are in Tham Phra. The meditation area at Tham Ai Te, with a reclining Buddha fresco painting on the wall. Also, There are beautiful stalactites and stalacmites in Tham Sai. Moreover, in the temple there is the Buddhas footprint and the body which was not yet decayed of Luang Pu Sai, a revered monk. Near by, is the local museum with the collections of the ancient materials found in the temple. Another highlight is the leather carving of the shadow puppet show done by the local artisans.

Location : Amphoe Sawi
This temple is near Sawi River. It is 47 km. from the city center along Highway No.41, Chumphon-Lang Suan route. According to legend, Phra Chao Si Thamma Sokarat and his army took a rest in Sawi District where they had strange experience. Albino crows and other types of crows flocked together above the debris of a ruined structure. His Majesty, therefore, issued an order to remove the debris. After removing it, they found a large pagoda. When they dug the ground deeper, they found a jar containing the Buddha’s relics. So, His Majesty had his men build a new pagoda over the old one. The construction could have taken place in the Ayutthaya Era. In 1916 a repair was done. A new structure was made over the old one. At the front of the temple next to Sawi River stands a shrine where a human-size effigy is kept. People in Sawi District call this shrine "San Phra Suea Mueang".

How to get there :
From Chumphon town centre, Drive along highway No. 41 (Chumphon - Lang Suan district route) approximately 45 km to Wat Phra Thart Sawi.

Chumphon City Pillar Shrine

Chumphon City Pillar Shrine, or lak muang, is located in front of the Chumphon City Municipality. It is a religious pillar that acts as a symbol of establishing Chumphon province. It is also a moral center for all Chumphon people. Chumphon City Pillar Shrine, or lak muang, is a religious pillar that is located at the center of the city or town square in Chumphon. The city pillar is regarded as the abode of the guardian spirit of the city.
Wat Cho Fah Sala Loi
Location : Amphoe Mueang
Located on Chumphon Ao Thung Wua Laen route, tourists can reach this temple by turning left for 6 kilometres, before reaching Chumphon Irrigation Office. This old Wat is worshipped among the Chumphon people through the strong faith in Luang Pu Song. (A most revered monk whose body has been believed to be in an undelaying condition after his death. A big Sala tree is inside the Wat with orange flowers and strange looking shape stem. (Lord Buddha was born under Sala tree)

How to get there :
From highway no. 4 (Petchkasem road), turn right at Thasae district intersection into the street no. 3180. At ban Saplee intersection, turning left for 6 kilometres before reaching Chumphon Irrigation Office.

This temple is in village no. 1, Wisai Nua Subdistrict. It is far away from Chumphon City center to the South about 29 kilometres, along Route 41 near Chumphon - Luang Suan District. There is the Largest Buddha image of the southern provinces established outdoor on the hill-top. It is accessible by car. There are wide car-parking and beautiful scenic park for relaxation and prying scares Buddha images inside.

Wat Sam Kaew is the ancient temple of Chumphon. It was built in the age of King Rama VI. This ancient temple locates in Ban Samkaew Village, Nachaang sub-district, Muang district,Chumphon. The native believe that the name of the temple is from the Legend of the three gems which was often flying to the sky in the past. It only appeared at night time. A native believe that it’s the sign of three gems in Buddhist belief and It brought the peace to the village.Moreover, there is a discovery of the antiques around the precints of Wat Samkaew. The antiques is about 1,700-2,000 years old. Include the small beads and a ancient metal drum which looks familiar to the one that found in Suratthani.

There is religious place, quiet, and beautiful. In front of the temple is Kuan Yin statue, high 999 m. and under the base is place of Chinese god for worship and make merit. Beside the Kuan Yin statue is the Krom Luang Chumphon statue which there place on base like the big ship. Walk a little we will see and worship the Ganesh statue is very big. After that we will walk up to the mountain for make merit, the show statue of hell and heaven happen. We can see view of the sea opposite the temple. Without these we will make merit by offer coin to monk’s bowl.

Wat Khao Chedi is located at Bangson, Pathiu district, 500 m from the Pathiu district office, on highway no. 4. On the top of the hill, you can see the golden Buddha image. The Pagoda at Wat Khao Chedi was built in Ayutthaya period. According to the legend, this pagoda was built and done right after Ayutthaya lost the war. This pagoda has a square base with the width of 9 m on each side.
Wat Thung Laem Yang

Wat Thung Laem Yang is located at Moo 8, Bangson, Pathew District, Chumphon. This temple has mountain on the back and beach in the front. If we stand in front of the ordination hall, we will see the beach clearly. This temple established on 5 October 2537. Inside the ordination hall, there is a Buddha stucco, beautiful wall painting and bee wax statue of Luang Poo Kein.
Hin Chang Spirit House
Location : Amphoe Tha Sae
Hin Chang Spirit House is located between Kilometer 453 and 454 on the Phet Kasem Highway in Tambon Salui. It is a spirit house with the image of a revered god.

From Chumphon town center drive along highway no. 4 (Petchkasem Road), Hin Chang Spirit House is located between Kilometer 453 and 454.
Wat Na Sarng

This temple is situated at the bank of Thasae river, Thasae Subdistrict. It is far away from Thasae district to the northwest about 2 kilometres. There is an antique church including many styles of Buddha images around it. The most outstanding is Miraculous Mode Laying Buddha image which was built in 2491 His length is about 7 wah 2 sok (about 15 meters). You will see the ancient arts about the other modes Buddha images at this temple.

Phra That Sawi is the other Phra That Chedi in the area of Sawi, housing relics of Lord Buddha. This of course being a much older site here, which goes back to the times of King Sri Thammasokarat. The Chedi is enclosed by a wall with gates and a bell tower and the cloister is lined with seated Buddha images. Another beautiful white Buddha image called Phra Suphan Rangsi is located just outside the temple walls.
Wat Phra That Thum Kwan Muang

The temple is in village no.4, napho subdistrict. It is 2 kilometres away from Sawee district and 48 kilometres away from the city center. If you travel along Chumphon - Lang Suan Road, up to the 375 kilometres, demarcation and turn right into an asphalt road, then go on for another 500 meters. You will arrive at the temple. It is a temple, is Thumayuth's Sect. The temple surroundings are kept cool with trees. The tourists interest is the pagada where the Buddha's rellics are enshrined. The pagada is on a small limestone hill. The large lawn around the pogoda can be used as an observation spot.

Wat Suan Som Boon is located at Moo 7, Suan Tang, Lamae. Wat Suansomboon is a Maha Nikai temple. It established on 30 June 1980. This temple is suitable for Buddhist camp. This temple has received a award on best toilet 2008 from Ministry of Health.

Being 5 kilometres from Chumphon on the left-hand side of highway No.4119 (Chumphon - Paknam route), this monument is built to commemorate the bravery of Chumphons heroes for their fight against the Japanese troop invasion in 1941 during World War II.
Prince Chumphon Shrine & Memorial
Location : Amphoe Mueang
It is 20 Kilometers far away from Chumphon city centre along highway. This is a sacred place of the people in Chumphon and nearly provinces. This place is in village No. 7, Had Sai Ree sub-district.

At this place stands the Monument of Admiral Phraboromawong Thir Kromluang Chumphon Khet Udomsak. It consists of San of Sadej Nai Kromluang Chumphon Khet Udomsak is at the north of Sai Ree beach. The shrine faces the sea. There is a museum which shows about his biography and things which he used. A large torpedo-ship name the Royal Chumphon is also here. It is 68 metres long and 6.55 metres wide. This ship was decommissioned on November 26, 1975. The Royal Thai Navy gave the ship to Chumphon province in 1979. After that it was put near this monument.

How to get there :
From highway no. 4 (Petchkasem road), turn right at intersection into the street no. 327, drive toward the street no. 4011, approximately 20 km. Prince Chumphon Shrine and Memorial located the foot of the hill near Sairee beach.

The National Museum Chumphon is located in the compound of the official government center of Chumphon at Sam Kaeo Hill, Na Cha Ang Sub-district, Muang District, Chumphon. It was established in 1994. The museum is a two storey building, in native style accompanied by a contemporary style which consists of the exhibition hall, museum library, multi - purposed convention hall, office, museum storage, book - shop & gift shop, cafeteria, etc.

How to get there :
Drive along highway no. 4 (Petchkasem road). Chumphon National Muesum located at the 484 km before approaching Pathomphon Junction.

Chumphon Night Market

Chumphon Night Market on Kromluang Road is the place to find a good local dinner in Chumphon. It is located on Kromluang Chumphon Road, Muang district, Chumphon. This is the fried crispy mussel with bean sprout. Mae Jeab got the Awards as a guarantee. Chumphon Night Market or Talad Torung is located near Prince of Chumphon Shrine. There are several food stalls there with both dishes and desserts. It is not far from Chumphon train station.

Somdej Phra Srinakarin Chumphon Park
Location : Amphoe Lang Suan
Located at Moo 7, this venue is 65 kilometres from Chumphon by turning right at Lang Suan crossroad for another three kilometres. This garden is beautifully decorated with flowers and the statue of the Princess' Mother, the highlight of this garden. Not far is Tham Khao Ngoen, of which there is the inscription of King Rama V's initials. Another inscription on the wall is No.108 which was the Ratanakosin Era when he visited the Malaya Peninsula in 1889. Also, there is a Chedi in front of the cave.

This mountain is next to Sairi Beach along the coast for 2.5 kilometres. On top of this mountain, there is a pavilion for view watching. And further from this area around one kilometre, there is an open area where a panoramic view of the various islands in the sea can be viewed.

How to get there :
From Chumphon town center drive along Highway no. 4001 road, 20 km toward Paradonparb Beach and drive to Pha Daeng Beach to get to Sairee Beach. Khao Chao Mueang located behind Sairee beach, 2.5 kilometer.
Monthip Fish Park
Location : Amphoe Mueang
From Chumphon, use Highway No. 5, turn right to Ban Khun Krating, then turn left to Wat Tham Sing, Turn right for 1 kilometre. This private park is deecorated with flowers and rocks. There are a large pond at the front, with carps and a variety of beautiful fish. Also, there are nearby tourist attractions such as Kaeo Kho Ram, with stalactites and stalagmites, on the same route to Wat Tham Sing. Dae Cave and Chang Phueak are located 100 metres down the road.

Khao Phang Forest Park
Location : Amphoe Mueang
Situated at the border of Amphoe Mueang and Tha Sae, this park is 12 kilometres from Chumphon along highway no.4 (Chumphon - Tha Sae route). In the park, there are many kinds of plants. At the front, are the parks gate and Prince Chumphons Shrine. The top of the mountain is both the cut-edge cliff suitable for hangliders and the view-point for Chumphon town.
Don Ta Then and Don Yai Chee

They are in village no. 7 Bangson Subdistrict far from Khao Jadee about 500 meters. Don Ta Then and Don Yai Chee have the mound which 1 meter high, 40 meters. Wide, around with stone bank. The broken bowls dishes, stone carving flowers were found here, so it is said that place was the old Pathiu District.

Khao Din So is a 764 ft / 233 m mountain peak near Pathio, Chumphon, Thailand. Based on peakery data, it ranks as the 16th highest mountain in Chumphon and the 2844th highest mountain in Thailand. The nearest peaks are Khao Mat Sa-an, Khao Bang Phat, Khao Bang Ket, Khao Chamya, Khao Yai Khlong Kadon, and Khao Hang Lai.
Khao Meow

Khao Meow is located in village no.3 Thalesub Subdistrict, northwest 3 kms. from pa Thiew District by laterite road. People believe that place is a magic land and they also believe that there is mythical metal (Lek Lai) which someone try to get it in the past. The cave's interior has a pool of holy water and has a seat for the monk which has the age more than 100 years old. There is a mystery legend about Khao Meaw that was told later from one to one.

Laem Thaen is in the area of Bang Saen Beach near Khao Sam Muk. It is a cape reaching out to the sea where pavilions for relaxation and restaurants are situated. There are a lot of people coming to do fishing in the area. A big part of Laem Thaen has been constructed over the sea in the last few years, the area is used for many festivities like concerts, markets and Friday and Saturday evening the famous Bangsaen Walking street.
The most distinct Thai sand dune in Chumphon

Near Had Thum Thong there is the natural sand dune called "The most distinct Thai sand dune in Chumphon". At the sand dune there is a nature trail that allow you to walk along and see many species of plants.(You should bring insect repellent and anti-allergy medicine along with you.)
Kapo Forest Park Waterfall

Located in Tambon Salui, this waterfall is 13 kilometres from Tha Sae, along Phetkasem Road, between 466th 468th kilometre, or from Pathomphon Crossroad, by Petkasem Road for about 30 kilometres. The park has the area of 7,010 Rai of shaded forests and small waterfalls, suitable for relaxation.
Tham Khao Phlu Hot Spring

Tham Khao Plu Hot Spring This place is one of the most popular tourists spots in Lamae District. It is in Mu 2, Tambon Suan Taeng, 7 kilometers away from the district center along Highway 41. There are 3 hot spas here at the foot of the mountain slope. In the vicinity, there are also 4 caves with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. Wildlife such as squirrels, pig-tailed monkeys and birds of different species are scattered around the area. How to get there:
Just 7 km south of Lamae trown, Turnoff eastwards from the southern highway 41 (Chumphon town - Laung Saun district route). From the turnoff it's about 500 m followed by another north turn. Well signposted.

Kaeng Bokfai

It's in the middle of Bokfai canal. It is far from Pha Toh district about 10 kms. along a laterite road. If you want to travel by rafting from Haew Loam Waterfall, it will take about 2 hours. Despite taking longer time, you can admire natural better. There are many big and small rocks emerge from the water. The sound of water striking rocks in the wilderness of the hill and will make you feel so happy that you wish to return many times.
Khao Nom Sao View Point (Nom Sao Hill)

This is the best view point on Koh Larn. The small shade house is built at this spot for viewer to appreciate the scenes of Pattaya, Ta Na Baan, and line of coconut trees on Haad Nuan.

Kromluang Chumpon Ket-udomsak a son of King Rama V, Who is honored as the father of the Thai Navy and was highly respected among Thais, especially fishermen. The pavilion is located on Kao Thongchai, facing the ocean. It is surrounded with a beautiful flower garden that offers a splendid Atmosphere for visitors. This location is believed to be the place where KromLuang Chumpon used to rest while his boat anchored here.

Nong Yai Area Development Royal Project

This is a royal project initiated by King Rama IX to solve the flooding problem in Chumphon. Located on the Chumphon-Ao Thung Wua Laen route, turn right at the Chumphon Irrigation Office along Khlong Hua Wang-Phanangtak route. Consisting of an area of 3,000 rai (1 acre = 2.5 rai), Nong Yai has a large reservoir and irrigation canals. There are many trees around the reservoir with quiet atmosphere. Inhabited by many birds, the are is suitable for studying the birds lifestyle and the wet area ecology.
Chumphon Horticultural Research Centre
Location : Amphoe Sawee
It is the training centre for MAWA coconut planting. This plant is the breed from the African and Malaysian ones. The Centre has the area of 1,700 rai (1 acre = 2.5 rai). The office and residence are at the front, while at the back is the planting area for pepper, coffee, cocoa and coconuts. Situated on highway 41, 54 km from the town of Amphoe Thung Tako, the orchard produces good quality fruits such as tangerine, papaya, dragon fruit, and Mayong Chit (marrian plum). The orchard is a perfect highway stop, ideal for taking a break from a long drive. A restaurant, coffee shop and souvenir shop are located in a beautiful lush green area. Remarkably, the orchard offers a unique toilet. The toilet at Nai Dum’s Fruit Orchard won the award from the Nation’s annual toilet competition in 2006. In addition, it had been proclaimed by the Ministry of Public Health to be a Thai public toilet learning centre, which is regularly visited by students and organizations. Mr Dum, the orchard owner, had the intention to develop this public toilet to be a pleasant place for visitors. Therefore, his idyllic and hygienic toilet is surrounded by nature; with flowers, trees and miniature waterfalls.
